Annual Homeless Count in NYC Shows 6 Percent Decrease

BRC CEO and President, Muzzy Rosenblatt, shares with Politico why NYC's strategy is working

On June 19, 2018 the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) announced the Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE) street homeless survey conducted on January 22, 2018 found that 3,675 homeless individuals were on the streets of New York that night, 6 percent less than last year and 16 percent fewer than the first count in 2005.

“Bottom line, what I’m seeing from doing the work, from this data, this is a place where the city‘s strategy is working, and we should double down on it," said BRC CEO and President, Muzzy Rosenblatt in a recent Politico article. "When something works, you do more of it."
