In February of 2016, Mayor de Blasio saw BRC’s work firsthand, as he accompanied BRC’s outreach program to offer a hand up to the unsheltered homeless in the subways. Our effort with the Mayor, chronicled by Channel 7 News successfully assisted 2 of the 3 clients we encountered, with both accepting placements in BRC residences, where they continue to reside and progress.

What distinguishes BRC is not what we do, but how we do it.
BRC pioneered development of the “Safe Haven” program — a safer, more supportive, lower-stress alternative to traditional shelters.
More than 400 people have gone through the doors of this 20-room safe haven since 2008. 200 clients have been successfully placed in permanent housing.
At BRC we are constantly evolving to meet our clients ever-changing needs.
Lack of affordable housing options for low-income individuals is one of New York City's most defining challenges.
Having developed housing, we began to wonder if there was a way to cut out the middleman and turn the City’s need for shelter into a way to also solve the housing crisis.
