Grace

Grace, 61, was living in a family shelter with her son when he was killed in a car accident on the way to a baseball game.

At that time, she began using crack cocaine and living on the streets, where she was first approached by BRC outreach in 2010. She was placed in a stabilization bed at BRC’s Moving Home Program, where she stayed until  she moved into BRC’s Clyde Burton House, permanent housing, in 2011.

When Grace moved into her own home she quit using drugs and adjusted to being indoors, maintaining her room, and taking care of herself, which she continues to do at Clyde Burton House now.

Grace is a vibrant member of the BRC community: always proactively suggesting ways to improve the facility and help others, while taking pride in her amazing progress over the years.
