The BRC Champions Leadership Council is a select group of dynamic individuals who work closely with BRC staff and administration on special projects, fundraisers, and volunteer events.

William- BRC Leadership Council

 

William Liu

Will Liu, is currently Enterprise Account Executive at Anaplan. In his free time, he loves being involved in the community and is currently active in local political organizations such as the Lambda Independent Democrats of Brooklyn helping to fundraise and raise awareness of LGBT issues.

He graduated Cornell University and currently lives with his husband Zack and Boston terrier puppy Beans in Brooklyn, NY.

 

Ross - BRC Leadership Council

Ross Oshinsky

Ross Oshinsky is a generalist M&A analyst at Centerview Partners in New York. Prior to working at Centerview, he studied Finance at the University of Virginia, graduating in May 2018. Ross is originally from Tenafly, NJ and enjoys outdoor activities, live music, and watching NYC / UVA sports in his spare time.

Mokihana - BRC Leadership Council

Mokihana Gushi

Experienced CSR and Regional PR Manager, Mokihana is charged with managing HBO’s corporate giving budget, administering sponsorship proposals and developing cross-company partnerships with HBO and non-profit organizations.  Skilled in event planning, employee engagement initiatives, media relations, in-kind events and regional PR screening events. 


She demonstrates 20 years of working in the entertainment industry with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Southern California.


I am honored to be part of an organization that is successfully making an impact in homelessness with the vast range of programs that specializes in the needs of each individual in the program.

Khepren - BRC Leadership Council

Khephren Spigner

Khephren is an Account Executive for Future PLC Publishing, working within their brands to expand advertising opportunities. Outside the sites he works with Future to provide the employees and community with support on their Executive Council Committee. He is also a member of Harlem RBI, a program under the DREAM initiative empowering all children to recognize their potential on and off the field. 


Khephren earned a degree in Sociology and Film Studies from Wesleyan University and is a motivated member of the BRC's Leadership Council.

John - BRC Leadership Council

John Tucker

As a former volunteer with BRC and as a NYC resident, I want to be a leader in the effort to provide NYC's homeless the resources and opportunities they need to recover. As a US Marine Veteran, I also want to help the Veteran homeless population.

Elizabeth - BRC Leadership Council

Elizabeth Jaffe

Elizabeth Jaffe is an analyst at BlackRock in the Retirement Insurance Group. She is responsible for business development and maintaining relationships with Life and Annuity Insurance providers. She is a 2018 graduate of the University of Michigan—Go Blue! 

Christhian - BRC Leadership Council

Cristhian Escobar

Social Responsibility begins locally and as a native New Yorker it is imerative that we address the rise of NYC’s homeless population and its unique needs. BRC is an amazing organization and has pioneered work in this arena. It is an honor to belp BRC achieve its mission by focusing on creative ways to fundraise and bring attention to the homeless situation in NYC.

Barret - BRC Leadership Council

Barrett Feldman

Barrett is a Principal at PSF Projects, an architecture firm based in Lower Manhattan, dedicated to creating engaging and enduring architecture. Barrett aims to use architecture and design to positively impact and improve people’s lives, organizations and communities through the strategic and thoughtful design of places and spaces. She is inspired by the work and impact of BRC and is excited to support it through the Champions Leadership Council.


Barrett earned a BA from Wesleyan University with a major in studio art and a Master’s in Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.

Alison - BRC Leadership Council

Alison Lisnow

Alison Lisnow is a Senior Associate at Strategy&. She works primarily with consumer goods companies and retailers, providing support in areas such as e-commerce and supply chain management. Prior to that, Alison was an Account Director at a digital marketing agency where she led relationships with corporate, nonprofit, and advocacy clients.

Alison has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Tufts University. She likes reading, stand-up comedy, and hot sauce. She is honored to be part of the BRC Champions Leadership Council.  

Ricardo - BRC Leadership Council

Ricardo Arguello

Ricardo is a Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch within the Global Banking and Markets Group. He has over 14+ years working in the financial services industry in various capacities. Growing up in NYC, he knows firsthand the importance of providing safe and affordable housing and the positive impact it has on families and communities.

He has a passion for giving back to NYC and to the greater Latino community through volunteering and fundraising activities. He holds a degree in History from Cornell University and is a member of the Cornell’s Tower Club, Cornell Latino Alumni Association, Cornell University’s Class of 2004 15th Year Anniversary Reunion Committee.

Jamie - BRC Leadership Council

Jamie Buck

Jamie is a Sales Director, for Pexip, Inc. providing software workplace collaboration solutions, and is responsible for their Financial Services & Insurance vertical. He has over 15 years experience working directly with Financial Services clients and is passionate in helping them drive successful outcomes. Jamie lives in White Plains, NY with his wife Jessica and son Justin and is excited for the opportunity to work as a BRC Champions Leadership Council member to drive awareness and support for safe and affordable housing in our communities.

He holds a Marketing degree from Providence College and MBA from the Simon School of Business – University of Rochester.

Tim Casio - BRC Landing Road

Tim Casio

Tim has been volunteering at the BRC in Chelsea since 2017, and is excited to help it continue its mission to provide services that make our community stronger. Originally from Minnesota, he has lived in New York City for six years, and works for Samsung. In his free time he likes to hike and play and watch hockey.

Aki Cipriani - BRC Leadership Council

Aki Cipriani

Aki has been volunteering with BRC for several years and has participated in various special events, holiday activities, and outreach programs.

“The most rewarding aspect of working with BRC is learning about the lives of the clients and what circumstances attributed to them becoming homeless and destitute. These personal stories showcase their perseverance and resiliency when faced with insurmountable obstacles. It really helps put life’s struggles into its proper perspective. Homelessness continues to be an epidemic in society and we need to be steadfast in our approach to bring it to an end. I’m motivated by the opportunity to take steps toward that goal and improve the quality of life for the unfortunate.”

Craig Collins - Leadership Council

Craig Collins

Craig is a Senior Vice President and Head of Media and Business Development for the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).  He has 20+ years of financial services experience, and a personal passion for health and fitness with 15 years as a personal trainer and performance coach.

Jenny Guerrerio - BRC Leadership Coundil

Jenny Guerrerio

Jenny is a Human Resources Generalist at McKinsey & Company.  She has a personal passion for health and fitness with a degree in Kinesiology and minor in Program Management.  She has 10 years of experience collaborating with BRC in the capacity of raising awareness of homelessness, attending BRC events, and volunteering.  

She’s excited to be a part of the BRC Champions Leadership Council because she believes in the mission to give a ‘hand up not a handout’ to improve lives of others.  

Christine Hagen - BRC Leadership Council

Christine Hagen

Christine has been a volunteer with BRC since November 2009. She has offered her services at weekly bingo at one of our housing services locations
 

Jai - BRC Leadership Council

Jai Lakhanpal

Jai has been volunteering with BRC in various capacities for the last two years. He has seen first-hand the great work BRC does in raising awareness, providing care and achieving long-term success with its clients. He is excited to further the BRC mission through the Champions Leadership Council.

Jai holds a degree in Mathematics from Dartmouth College and lives in New York City.

Shaun McElhenny - BRC Leadership Council

Shaun McElhenny

Shaun is an attorney with the law firm of Thompson Hine LLP, and regularly provides pro bono legal services in New York City Family Court.  He has been a BRC volunteer since 2014.  Shaun was drawn to work with BRC because of its comprehensive approach to homeless services, and has been continuously impressed with its commitment to innovation and client empowerment.  

He is excited to serve on the BRC Champions Leadership Council to find new ways to build on BRC’s excellent record of success, and make a positive impact on the city he loves.

Joseph McElligott - BRC Leadership Council

Joseph McElligott

Joseph is a Director for Guggenheim Partners, is associated with Guggenheim Investor Services, a FINRA registered broker/dealer, and is responsible for client development for Guggenheim Investment Advisors, an SEC registered investment advisor. Prior to joining the Business Development team, Mr. McElligott oversaw all trading, execution and manager onboarding. Mr. McElligott joined Guggenheim in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Wesleyan University and holds the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

Mr. McElligott serves as the Vice Chair of the Wesleyan University Alumni Association and Wesleyan’s Binswanger Prize Committee.

Dan Sills - BRC Leadership Council

Dan Sills

Dan works in Data Science and Analytics at SapientRazorfish and has lived in New York for the past five years. He loves to travel, play squash, and could not be more excited to get married next year. Dan, an avid volunteer and supporter of community building efforts, is ecstatic to be an integral part of BRC and its solution-driven mission.

Jose Stevenson

Jose is a Senior Bank Examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he has worked for 13 years supervising Systemically Important Financial Market Utilities. He holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MPP from the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. Prior to his role at the FRBNY, Jose worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, the White House and the Mayor’s Office of the City of New York.

Outside of the office, Jose is an avid triathlete, having completed an Ironman in 2016. In 2009, he utilized his passion for triathlon to help found the TriLatino Triathlon Team – a non-profit organization that uses triathlon and endurance sports to promote healthy lifestyles in the Latino community. Jose served on TriLatino’s Board of Directors for eight years and ran the organization’s high school triathlon program in the South Bronx. Now he is excited to transfer this appetite for helping others to support BRC’s mission of uplifting NYC’s most vulnerable.

Jose is a native of the Bronx, where he currently lives with his wife and two young sons.

Evelysse Headshot - BRC Leadership Council

Evelysse Vargas

Evelysse Vargas is an Investment Analyst for the New York City Board of Education Retirement System (BERS). In this capacity, she is responsible for conducting manager due diligence and initiating the investment manager selection process. Previously, she worked at BlackRock in the Financial Institutions Group.

She is a member of the Alumnae Board for her high school, The Chapin School, and in that capacity, she co-chairs the Alumnae Cultural Awareness Program.

Evelysse earned a degree in American Studies from Wesleyan University and is excited to be a member of the BRC's Leadership Council.
