On November 8th, 2018, the members of BRC’s Leadership Council, a group of young professionals who volunteer, fundraiser, and raise awareness around BRC’s mission, hosted the rebirth of our annual fall fundraiser, the Champions Benefit.
Held at the world famous Up & Down in Chelsea, the event was lead sponsored by Cambrian Consulting , along with Centerview Partners , Corsica Technologies, and a generous list of companies, organizations and individuals. View our sponsors list here.
Attendees also witnessed a moving performance by 12 year old Alex Cameron, a violin prodigy, who made headlines in NYC by using his talent to fundraise for homeless individuals he encountered during a recent visit.
The event held an online auction for fabulous trips, event experiences and paraphernalia, and guests won special prizes, including a 2019 Vespa Sprint-50 provided by Manhattan Vespa.
The event raised over $77,000, breaking the previous record during the last held benefit in 2016. All proceeds go to benefit BRC’s Horizons Workforce Development Program, which had helped thousands of New Yorker’s move from unemployment and homelessness to independence and self-sufficiency.
BRC’s Champions Leadership Council (formerly known as the Junior Board) has 29 Members from all different industries and regions of the NYC metro area and gather regularly to volunteer, hold fundraisers, socialize and network among fellow philanthropic-minded individuals.
