BRC Honors Linda Gibbs at The Way Home Gala
Raising over $1 million, The Way Home Gala honored Linda Gibbs, who served as New York City Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Services from 2005-2013, and is currently Principal at Bloomberg Associates.
The evening featured BRC's Horizons Workforce Development Program, a person-centered program that helps homeless men and women overcome obstacles to employment so they can be effective job seekers today and in the future. With Horizons help, 290 individuals found and maintained employment. A virtual job fair was on display where attendees witnessed the journey clients are on towards independence and stability.
An auction was held to fund $2,500 scholarships for Horizons participants. If you would like to help fund these scholarships, you can donate here or contact BRC's development team at 212-803-5700.
Broadway star Desi Oakley performed for the attendees, including an original piece titled "White Butterfly" which she dedicated to BRC's clients.
On behalf of the people we serve, thank you for your generosity and support, which enables our clients to reclaim their lives from homelessness, mental illness and addiction.
