Thank You for Your Support In Celebration of Jennifer and Harrison's Wedding

Thank you for giving a hand up to those reclaiming their lives.

Thank you for your support in celebration of Jennifer and Harrison's wedding!

From Jenny and Harrison:

J and H

"We have always cared deeply about community.  We know that many of the members of our local community in New York City who have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis are also those who are most in need of resources.  Bowery Residents' Committee supports members of our local community with needs related to housing, healthcare, mental health and finding a job.  We are especially supportive of BRC's data-driven approach to community intervention.  Please consider donating during this cause we care about in this time of need."

Since 1971,  BRC has been on frontlines of poverty and public health in NYC, beginning in the flop houses on skid row, continuing through the AIDS epidemic, 9/11, Hurricane Sandy, economic downturns and now COVID-19.

Given the personal and environmental challenges faced by our clients, they are among the most susceptible to the impacts of this pandemic, making the continuity of our operations ever more critical. In these challenging and uncertain times, our essential staff remain present, resilient and determined, going above and beyond to do all they can to support our clients.

The BRC community, from the outreach workers in the subways; the social workers, aides, cooks and porters in our shelters; the case managers in our housing; to the doctors, nurses and counselors in our addiction treatment programs – continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the critical services we provide are available to New York City’s most vulnerable individuals.

Now more than ever, BRC needs support to ensure the sustainability of our life saving efforts throughout this crisis, and so that we can be ready to serve effectively when the resultant economic crisis brings more people in need to our door.

Rather than create wealth for private developers, could we use the same shelter contract to create housing for low-income people?
