On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Bowery Residents’ Committee (BRC) closed on the sale of Bronx Family Housing, a three-building complex that consists of 189 units of permanent housing in the Bronx, including 151 units for formerly homeless families.
BRC took over daily operations of the site in late 2021, and with the completion of the sale, BRC has now taken full title of the buildings and will begin major renovations. Updates will include modernizing each building, investing in energy efficiency, and completing critical upgrades that were neglected by previous ownership.

The renovations are scheduled to be completed in 2028. The goal of the program is to provide a safe and secure housing environment for building tenants while providing supportive services designed to engender ongoing housing stability. Â
